How to play Memory Match online with family

Memory Match is the pairs game you already know, on a 4 by 4 grid. It's one of the easiest games to hand to a mixed-age group, because the rules take ten seconds to explain and kids often beat adults at it.

Create a room and share the code or link. Up to six people can play from their own devices, each seeing the same board. When someone flips a card, everyone watches it, which is where the memory part comes from.

It plays solo too, so you can practise on your own or add computer players to fill the table.

Memory Match rules in full

  • On your turn you flip two face-down cards.
  • Matching cards stay face up, count as your pair, and you take another turn.
  • Cards that don't match flip back and the turn passes to the next player.
  • The game ends when every pair is found. Most pairs wins.
  • Face-down cards are hidden on the server too, so nobody can see them by inspecting the page.

Tips for winning at Memory Match

  • Pay attention on other people's turns. Every card they reveal and miss is a free clue.
  • Start each turn with a card nobody has seen. A new card is either a lucky match or a new clue for the next turn.
  • Remember positions by row and column: 'second row, third across'.
  • If you know where one half of a pair is, flip it second so a miss gives away less.

Yes. It's rated for ages 5 and up, and it's fair to mixed ages because it rewards attention rather than reading speed.
