Single-Player Games You Can Play Online Right Now (No Download, No Sign-Up)
Free games you can play on your own in the browser, from word games and memory games to Tic Tac Toe and Ludo against the computer. No account needed.
Sometimes you want a game and nobody else is around. These all work on your own, in the browser, on a phone or laptop. There's nothing to download and no account to create. Some are solo games by design, and the rest let you play against the computer.
Games you can play completely alone
These work in a room with just you in it, so there's no setup beyond opening the page.
- Hangman — guess the hidden word one letter at a time before six wrong guesses. Each round shows a category such as animals, food or countries, and it takes three to eight minutes.
- Word Scramble — unjumble the word before the 45-second timer runs out. A session is eight words, and playing solo is a good way to beat your own best.
- Memory Match — find all the pairs on a 4 by 4 grid in as few turns as you can. Five minutes is plenty.
- Haunted Words — a spooky Hangman where seven candles go out as you miss. It plays solo too.
- Pumpkin Patch — a Halloween memory game with a curse. It also works on your own.
Games you can play against the computer
For these, create a room and tap Play vs computer. The game starts straight away, with no lobby and no waiting.
- Tic Tac Toe — one to three minutes. The computer plays well but slips now and then, so it can be beaten.
- Connect 4 — three to ten minutes. It blocks and takes wins but doesn't plan far ahead, so a double threat works.
- Snakes & Ladders — a relaxed luck-based race, good when you want something with no thinking.
- Ludo — a proper 20 to 40 minute board game. The computer fills the other seats.
- Trick or Treat — a quick candy race where the computer joins in.

And when someone turns up
Every game here also works with other people. If a friend or family member walks in, create a room, send them the four-digit code or the link, and they join from their own phone. For more ideas to fill a quiet hour, see games to play when you're bored.
