Pumpkin Patch is a memory game for Halloween. Sixteen cards lie face down, in eight pairs: a pumpkin, a ghost, a bat, a skull, a piece of candy, a witch's hat, a spider and an eye. The eye is the cursed pair.
The rules
- On your turn, flip two cards. If they match, they stay face up, you score a point and you go again.
- If they don't match, they flip back and it's the next player's turn.
- If you match the cursed pair (the eyes), you lose a point instead, and your turn ends. Your score can't go below zero.
- When every card has gone, the player with the most points wins. Equal scores share the place.
Tips
- Watch other people's flips. Every card someone else turns over is information, and remembering other players' misses is how you win.
- Never flip a known eye first. The second card could be its twin.
- Leave the eyes until last. Once you've found both, there's no reason to touch them until nothing else is left.
- Count the cards late in the game. A forced curse near the end can decide who wins.
It works for ages five and up, and up to six people can play. Create a room, or try the plain version, Memory Match.
